Instructions. This page enables you to test your network connection and PC's capabilities for viewing web casts. If necessary you will be given links to upgrade Microsoft components. If you are still having difficulties, you can send a report about your PC's configuration to our support group.
When you click the Start the Test button below, the Media Player will buffer and a 5-second clip should start in a few seconds. Please let it complete. However, you may experience problems with running this test if:
You don't have Microsoft Media Player installed, or have an outdated version. You'll see a red x to the left of the Start the Test button. You will need to upgrade your Media Player using the link at the bottom of this page
You have browser or network settings that block or don't support ActiveX scripting
Your network is blocking streaming media. Click Here to learn more about network settings
Your sound card or speakers are turned off
The quality and speed of your connection is poor
And, If you are an AOL user, web casts may not open. Instead, "copy" the link (url address) into an Internet Explorer window. Then the web cast will open.
After the test completes:
Follow any instructions at the bottom of this page about your Microsoft Media Player or connection. If there are instructions, follow them and run this test again (click the Start the Test button).
